Objectifs et capacités de apprenant.es

Are you a small to mid-sized retailer looking to refresh your current strategy? Do you want a small group of senior-level retail students develop creative solutions to your strategic problems? Students will work in small groups of 2-3 throughout the semester on a challenge you provide them. Along the way, they could gather primary data from your customers and collate secondary data about your industry, analyze the data and then develop a strategic retailing plan along with actionable insights.

Exemples de projets

Student-consultants in groups of 2-3 will develop a proactive strategic plan which will guide your future opportunities and be prepared to face upcoming changes in consumer trends. Some examples of past projects that my students have worked on include - Enhancing Target's Cartwheel app to provide excellent customer service; Re-energize Target's Threshold brand; Create an online presence and develop digital marketing strategies for a small jewelry store and for a small boutique both located in Northern New Jersey.

Potential projects could focus in the following areas -

1) Branding strategies for your company/products

2) Identifying your customer decision making process

3) Positioning analysis

4) Competitor analysis

5) Merchandising strategy

6) Overall strategic development

7) Digital marketing strategy

To accomplish this work, students will:

  • Conduct an initial meeting with your organization to determine the scope of the project and your key areas of interest
  • Work as a group to develop a detailed report for your organization.
  • Deliver the final report to your organization which will include the implementation plan
