Exemples de projets

Starting this May, groups of 6-8 master's-level student-consultants will analyze applicable data sets to help you make informed decisions for the success of your business. These datasets can include publicly available data related to your industry or customers. In the past, students have helped companies who are trying to:

- Reach a new customer/audience

- Introduce a new product

- Trying to reach a new target customer/audience

- Expand to a new location

- Enter a new industry

Based on the information your organization provides about current and past performance, and the goals that you've shared with the students, they will provide you with an analysis and recommendations that will help you gain insights into new opportunities or address a specific challenge your organization is facing.

The approaches students will use to address your challenges will vary by project. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Predictive analytics in ecommerce & retail.
  • Predictive analytics in investments & trading.
  • Pricing for new technology products & services.
  • Assessing credit scores, ratings, and risk.
  • Financial fraud likelihood.
  • Customer segmentation & targeting.
  • Predicting customer churn.
  • Sentiment analysis of social media content.

Project proposals must answer the following questions to be considered for inclusion in this course:

  1. What problems/opportunities would you like student consultants to address through this project?
  2. What are the benefits of this project to your organization/customers?
  3. What data set(s) will you providing to student teams? Please describe the format. If students will be using publicly available data, can you please provide a link to a representative data set?
