Our organization is able to offer a virtual internship opportunity for students who are working with Django, Python, AI, and machine learning

The primary focus for the student will be:

  • Website Development for InnScience IPOP (Innovation, Project, Online, Platform) - Work with Python, Django, AI, and machine learning with natural language processing to implement a question answering system, paper recommendation and user recommendation, as well as to implement a workflow to find and incorporate technologies to our database from external databases.

We have developed most of the code, and have a general direction but wish to work with a student to help us debut InnScience IPOP. We are looking for students that can assist us with HTML, Python, Javascript, and Flask to launch the platform.

The number of required hours per week:

  • 80 hours

The task to be completed

  • Adapt a matchmaking algorithm to easily make connections between researchers and industries that are being used in a Flask prototype, in Django - 10 hours
  • Create an automated email system based on data from the company’s database - 10 hours
  • Present, discuss and chose a proposal for the design of the Question Answering System in the user dashboard view 5 hours
  • Implement a Question Answering System that will render papers with a ranking system from most relevant to least relevant. 15 hours.
  • Present, discuss and chose a proposal for the design of a Paper Recommendation System in the user dashboard view 5 hours
  • Implement a Paper Recommendation System that will show the top 10 papers with a ranking system - 15 hours
  • Present, discuss and chose a proposal for the design of a User Recommendation System in the user dashboard view. 5 hours
  • Implement a User Recommendation System that will show the top 10 users with a ranking system - 15 hours
