The project aims to explore and evaluate environmentally friendly construction materials by focusing on their insulation performance and environmental impact. Learners will research various greener construction materials and analyze their effectiveness using U-value calculations and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission comparisons. The goal is to identify materials that offer superior insulation while minimizing environmental impact. Participants will apply their classroom knowledge in data analysis and visualization to present their findings. The project will involve building predictive models and creating dashboards using Excel and PowerBI, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the materials' performance. Weekly team meetings and project management tools will be utilized to ensure effective collaboration and progress tracking.

Objectives

1. Conduct comprehensive online research on greener construction materials.
2. Analyze wall structures using Python and Rhino to calculate U-values for insulation performance.
3. Compare U-values with GHG emissions and communicate findings to the team.
4. Build predictive models in Excel to estimate U-values and GHG emissions.
5. Develop data visualizations and pivot tables using Excel and PowerBI.
6. Deliver a final research presentation summarizing findings and recommendations.
7. Participate in weekly team meetings and use Asana for project task management.
