The mission of the Pour Me Water Festival is not to only enhance tourism in alberta but to also contribute to be a part of the change in creating more inclusive and diverse spaces in Canada.
*Disclaimer: We do not expect students to complete all of the main goals and tasks outlined in this project. We will work with students on a case by case basis to determine what is best suited for them in terms of the skills they are hoping to sharpen or acquire*
Our goal at the end of this experience is:
- Working with project manager to create content and design
- Content Creation (Instagram, Tik Tok, etc...)
- Content Scheduling - Some Graphic Design
- Researching the competition and refining best practices for social media strategy and content
- Do research and creating educational content and carousel about aspects of African, Caribbean and Latin Cultures including but not limited to: Genres of music, dance styles, origins, etc...
- Create copywriting for the festival and raise awareness through outreach using copywriting.
- Create a blog about the benefits of live music and unique experiences like these in Edmonton, Canada.
Students will work closely with the primary project manager who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include weekly progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.
We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern(s) using these communication tools:

- Satiurn
- WhatsApp for Business

Throughout the years, La Connexional has (directly and indirectly) contributed over 60K in the African, Black, Caribbean and Latine communities. In 2018, we held the first ever Afro Latin Festival in Canada (which has grown from 150 attendees to 800 in 3 years). Many of our experiences being bilingual & economically accessible.
