Our organization is seeking help with writing blog posts that are optimized for search engines. SEO writing is a very specific type of writing, and we will teach you everything you need to know about how to do it effectively!

The goal of SEO copywriting is to help businesses and organizations gain visibility online. When we create regular SEO content for their websites, we ensure that they are viewed as highly relevant by Google and other search engines. This makes sure their brand and website are viewed more often.

We ask for students to write twelve 800-1000 word blog posts. We'll provide strong outlines, a template for writing the post, easy-to-use tools for the SEO portion of the project, and direct guidance from our team members

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

• A strong grasp of the basics of SEO copywriting, including an understanding of keyword placement, word count requirements, title lengths, etc.
• Ability to navigate the different tools we use for writing support, including Grammarly, Google Docs, and SEMrush Writing Assistant.
• A strong grasp of how to write for a specific target audience.
• An understanding of how to link content together strategically.

Bonus steps would include:

• Helping us create new blog topics for upcoming content calendars (often, ideas will arise as we write another topic!)

Final deliverables should include:

• Twelve 800-1000-word blog posts

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We like to meet with students to get them set up with our tools and templates.

Students will also have access to:

• Many examples of past blog posts that have been written
• Specific templates and video guides
• Direct and regular communication through Slack and email
• Meetings with our team members to answer questions and check in
• Our vision statement, website, and other resources
