revenue stream social entrepreneurship resilience surveying innovationLa Connexional is a community focused social enterprise that is run by a team of dedicated individuals on a part-time basis. We have steadily grown over 4 years, from inaugurating Alberta's only Afro-Latin Festival to building a robust and resilient community through innovative events and workshops. We're currently formalizing our processes and developing new revenue streams in light of the COVID-19 pandemic with the goal of scaling La Connexional nationally and creating impactful employment opportunities.
We want to not only better understand what our communities value, want and prefer about what we do but also better understand how to evaluate and measure the social value that is derived from the work La Connexional does and identify the steps involved in researching and crafting a better social entrepreneurial venture plan in order to keep growing, develop new initiatives and uniquely position ourselves within our industry in Alberta and Canada.
Our primary goals are:
- Understand what our communities value, want and prefer
- Better communicate the social enterprise concept with respect to corporation and community engagement and development.
- Measuring the social value that is derived from our social enterprise.
- Better communicate to our audiences how social entrepreneurship contributes to the formation of enduring community social capital.
We can provide access to a number of different online paid and professional surveying tools such as Qwary, Zonka Feedback, Question Scout in order to help the interns or teams achieve their goals.
Our handle is @laconnexional across all socials.
If you like the sights and sound of our culture, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.
Upon being selected for the project, La Connexional will meet with the selected team/student to discuss preferences.
Students can expect to use project management software in order to organize themselves and keep track of the initiatives they take on as well as be in regular contact with the corresponding La Connexional team member(s) who will be their point person for the duration of the project.
Students can also connect with other team members if their interests align/want to explore different areas of the business (i.e: photography, videography, finance, marketing/pr, sales, community building, etc).
À propos de l'entreprise
La Connexional’s mission is to promote development, and growth, social integration, social inclusion and multicultural understanding between African, Caribbean, Latinx and Canadian communities, by being a source of historical and cultural education, and multicultural, networking, and entrepreneurial events. La Connexional uses social innovation, entrepreneurship, and collective collaborations to build vibrant communities and create positive generational impact that starts with communities of the African and Latinex diaspora, and then reverberates out to the communities they inhabit across Canada. Throughout the years, La Connexional has (directly and indirectly) contributed over 60K in the African, Black, Caribbean and Latine communities. In 2018, we held the first ever Afro Latin Festival in Canada (which has grown from 150 attendees to 800 in 3 years). Many of our experiences being bilingual & economically accessible.
