The primary focus for the student will be to work on our upcoming Marketing Strategy and Execution for an indoor event at a Waterpark between the periods of June 21st and August 31st. The event will take place on October 29, 2022:

  • Conduct an assessment; identify opportunities and threats facing our event; assess where and how to improve our brand's presence and differentiate from our competitors.
  • Recommend changes, if needed, to advertising and PR materials
  • Investigate our competitive landscape; perform market segmentation to identify the ideal target market.
  • Evaluate our current customer base and make recommendations; review our prospect messaging, make improvement recommendations, and create new outreach content.
  • Develop and implement an SEO strategy; provide content suggestions and recommendations to increase search visibility.
  • Conduct an audit of our current social media presence and/or other current communication channel(s).

*Disclaimer: We do not expect students to complete all of the main goals and tasks outlined in this project. We will work with students on a case by case basis to determine what is best suited for them in terms of the skills they are hoping to sharpen or acquire*

Our goal at the end of this experience is:

  • For the student(s) to help us improve the brand of the event presence and capture greater market share.
  • For the student(s) to help us gain a better understanding of our target market and ensure we are optimally positioned and our product and pricing aligns with our target sector/customer.
  • For the student(s) to help us effectively communicate our brand's story and mission to a broad audience.
  • For the student(s) to help us generate more traffic and revenue through search engines.
  • For the student(s) to help us improve our online presence, reach more customers, and effectively promote our brand through compelling content.
Mentorat

Students will work closely with the primary project manager who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include weekly progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

Throughout the years, La Connexional has (directly and indirectly) contributed over 60K in the African, Black, Caribbean and Latine communities. In 2018, we held the first ever Afro Latin Festival in Canada (which has grown from 150 attendees to 800 in 3 years). Many of our experiences being bilingual & economically accessible.
