This document you create will contain a) channel name, b) key topics covered by them and c) screenshots of a variety of videos posted by them Video animation and creation - Create a short 2-3 minute explainer style animated video. We will work with you to create a storyboard for the video. We will provide any copy required as well as details Video animation and creation - Create 5-10 short 2-3 minute videos designed to teach children new words. These will include basic animations. We already have illustrations and content from our books. Your task is to take those illustrations and add basic animations to help us create topic-specific videos. (we will provide illustrations - animation will be required to bring them on screen, and take them off). We are looking for students that have experience with video animation and video editing to create videos. Mobile App - language learning for kids
Project Title: Language Learning Games App Background Information: Our company was created over a year ago with a specific goal to create products and services that make it easier for children of South Asian descent to learn their native languages. So far, our focus has been on a single language - Urdu. We wanted to become excellent in a single language, and then extend our offerings to other languages (e.g. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, etc.). South Asians are the fastest growing and wealthiest demographic in the US and we believe there is a huge opportunity in this space. As a 1.5 person startup, we took a staged approach to test product/market fit. After having sold thousands of books in a single language around the globe, we are now exploring other opportunities including the development of digital products such as an app. Work Request: We want to develop a basic/prototype version of an app that children can use to learn the basics of another language. We would use this MVP to test demand and get feedback from our most important users. As we do not have a tech background ourselves, we are very open to discussions around the scope to achieve what is realistic as part of this project. General Description for MVP app : 5 categories (Animals, Fruits/Veg, Body Parts, Colours, Numbers) 1 set of “flash cards” in each category 2 games in each category for a total of 10 games. We have basic descriptions of these games which include memory games, popping balloons, puzzles, "fill the basket", match right answers, etc. Around 200-300 objects in total Ability to change the content / language on the back-end We have a lot / most of the object illustrations already from our books but for other design elements we can use placeholders Score tracking will be useful (multiple kids on device, but no registration required) No monetization for MVP Examples: Studycat Fun French https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.studycat.funfrench&hl=en_US&gl=US Spanish School Bus for Kids https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spanish-school-bus-for-kids/id642466531 Canticos Bilingual Preschool https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1519515456?mt=8 Technology Requirements: iOS native to start Contact Information: hamid@inglishforkids.com
Marketing Strategy & Execution
Our mission Our company was created over a year ago with a specific goal to create products and services that make it easier for children of South Asian descent living in the West to learn their native languages. So far, our focus has been on a single language - Urdu. We want to become excellent in a single language, and then extend our offerings to other languages (e.g. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, etc.) What we do As a 1.5 person startup, we took a staged approach to test product/market fit. Phase 1 - complete - published a series of bilingual books in Urdu. We are the first ones to include English transliteration, in addition to English translations besides the Urdu script. We have received excellent feedback over the last year having sold thousands of books around the globe, with a significant presence in Canada, the US and the UK. Phase 2 - in progress - prove out product/market fit on multiple products Relaunch under a new name with a new set of products that take into account customer feedback we have received Launch a new service line of online tutoring specifically catered and designed for kids in the West Explore expansion opportunities Phase 3 - future - scale! The Project As part of our Phase 2 relaunch, we are looking to define our new marketing strategy to target South Asian parents that will be interested in our offerings. We view this is a broad scope exercise and are willing to work with the students to further refine it and limit the scope based on their interest and availability. We are looking to improve our understanding of the personas we target, and based on that craft a strategy to target them through various streams. Some activities the sutdents can work on include: Defining personas based on data and first party interviews Understanding needs and wants of customers and how our product fits into their journeys Crafting value propositions, stories and case studies that match findings Understanding where our customers are in the online world and how we can target them Developing messaging and content ideas Creating a multi-channel plan based on findings (PR, social media, content, etc.)
Market Expansion Strategy - new service line

The Project We have some key strategic decisions ahead of us that need to be assessed. One of them is outlining our roadmap for the new online tutoring service we are looking to create. We envision this as a market place (see vipkid.com or lingobus.com) where parents can find tutors that have specifically been trained on materials that teach South Asian languages as a second language to kids who live in the West. While we expect to launch with a MVP, we can use help from the students in outlining the opportunity and effort required to achieve our end objectives. This would include laying out a roadmap of our offering, key milestones, investments, languages offered, marketing opportunities and understanding how it links to the journeys of the customers from the rest of the business.
Market Expansion Strategy - UK Expansion

The Project While we have established a distribution presence in the UK, we still believe that there is lots more to understand with the South Asian market there that we are looking to target. We are trying to establish a better understanding of their personas, where they shop, who they follow on social media, what their alternatives are, why they buy our products and how can we better position our product for the British market.

So far, our focus has been on a single language - Urdu. We wanted to become excellent in a single language, and then extend our offerings to other languages (e.g. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, etc.). The Project We have some key strategic decisions ahead of us that need to be assessed. One of them is geographic expansion. Our current focus is in Canada, the US and the UK. We want to understand the opportunity outside those geographics and determine whether it would be worth the investment of time and resources to expand into those regions. As part of students, students would have to consider: The products we currently carry and the services we plan to expand into Market research - languages, culture, demographics of various regions Distribution - distribution channels we can use, partners, etc to expand Launch strategies in the recommended markets Other risks and considerations
Market Expansion Strategy - go deep, or broad?
Our mission Our company was created over a year ago with a specific goal to create products and services that make it easier for children of South Asian descent to learn their native languages. So far, our focus has been on a single language - Urdu. We wanted to become excellent in a single language, and then extend our offerings to other languages (e.g. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, etc.). The Project We have some key strategic decisions ahead of us that need to be assessed. The key question is - what is the best path for us to scale? The options in front of us are: Option 1 - Go deep in a single language first by adding new products/services. We want to map out the journey a child takes from early years to later stages and understand the products/services we can offer to parents that establishes us as the leader in the space with a comprehensive set of offerings. We will need to understand competitors in the space (other languages), comparable offerings, market/opportunity size, investment considerations and other operational considerations Option 2 - Go broad into multiple languages to expand TAM - we can take our current book offering and translate it into other languages and start marketing it right away to multiple our total market. We need to understand implications - financial, operational, etc. Also need to look into current offerings in that space and how we would be positioned next to them. Option 3 - geographic expansion - our current focus is in Canada, the US and the UK. We want to understand the opportunity outside those geographics and determine whether it would be worth the investment of time and resources to expand into those regions. It will likely be a combination of the above that we proceed with. This is an opportunity for students to work with us and help us define the future direction of our start-up!

Second Language Curriculum Development
Our mission Our company was created over a year ago with a specific goal to create products and services that make it easier for children of South Asian descent to learn their native languages. So far, our focus has been on a single language - Urdu. We want to become excellent in a single language, and then extend our offerings to other languages (e.g. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, etc.) What we do Over the past year we have published a series of bilingual books in Urdu. We are the first ones to include English transliteration, in addition to English translations besides the Urdu script (similar to what Pin-Yin does for Mandarin, we want to do that for South Asian languages). We are now looking to expand to provide online tutoring specifically designed for kids who live in the West. The Project We want to develop a curriculum that is specifically designed to help teach South Asian languages as a second language to kids who are growing up in Western countries. Knowledge of South Asian languages is not required to help with this project . We are looking for help in designing/developing the curriculum and teaching materials at this stage for online/remote instruction. We can translate later to other languages as needed. Based on our co-founder's background in Education, we have recently started outlining the curriculum we want to offer. Below is our starting point: Ages 5-8 Conversational basics 101 (focus on verbal only - no writing/reading) - Hybrid (English + Urdu instruction) Conversational basics 102 (verbal only - no writing/reading) - Hybrid (English + Urdu instruction) Conversational intermediate 201 (verbal only - no writing/reading) - Hybrid (English + Urdu instruction - more Urdu/Less English) Conversational intermediate 202 (verbal only - no writing/reading) - Immersive (Urdu instruction) Conversational advanced 301 (verbal only - no writing/reading) - Immersive (Urdu instruction)) Conversational advanced 302 (verbal only - no writing/reading) - Immersive (Urdu instruction) In the future we also want to adapt this curriculum for an older age group (9-12). And later we will introduce a reading/writing curriculum as well. Help needed We are looking for help in refining and developing on the above curriculum, e.g. outline objectives/outcomes, topics, teaching materialls, learning activities, teaching guidelines, etc. Knowledge of South Asian languages is not required. We can adapt best practices from other languages and translate later. Our objective is to get to an end state where we have a curriculum we can use to train teachers. We do not need to complete everything as part of the project . We are open to having a discussion on what the scope can be and how we can work together on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes. Please reach out if you have any questions!
